Background

Cabinlocator approached CL Fabrication Services to help deliver a bespoke portable building for a client whose site had complex ground conditions. The solution required a custom-engineered jackleg system that could adapt to the terrain without disturbing the ground surface.

Challenges

This was a completely custom requirement — there was no existing product on the market that met the client's needs. The jacklegs had to be engineered from scratch to ensure they could handle the required structural loads while offering adjustable height at the ground plate. Additionally, the system needed to avoid any ground penetration due to site restrictions.

Our solution

We designed and fabricated 8 portable building jacklegs featuring height-adjustable ground plates. These allowed precise levelling without the need for excavation, ideal for sensitive ground conditions. Each jackleg was built to support the full structural load of the modular unit and finished with a protective powder coat.

Technical details

Each jackleg was constructed from high-strength steel, with an integrated adjustable base plate for height flexibility. The units were powder-coated for corrosion resistance and engineered to safely distribute building loads without compromising site integrity.

Standout factors

This was a truly bespoke product — not available on the market. The solution was developed entirely in-house from concept to completion, showcasing our ability to engineer unique, site-specific solutions quickly and effectively.

Outcome
